Bugatti and Adidas team up for football boots – 99 pairs to be sold via auction; from 0.2 ETH or RM1,765

Car companies collaborating with sports and fashion brands is nothing new and works both ways. On the clothing side, you’ve probably seen Puma products with Ferrari, BMW, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz branding.

Meanwhile, on the vehicle side, there was the Lamborghini Murcielago Versace Edition, Mercedes-Benz Project Gelandewagen by Virgil Alboh, Peugeot 205 Lacoste, Maserati Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna and Volkswagen Golf GTI Adidas, just to name a few.

The one we’re focusing on in this post was recently announced and involves Bugatti and Adidas, with both coming together to create the Adidas X Crazyfast Bugatti. Yes, the French carmaker known for making quad-turbo-powered cars is putting its name on a football boot, which will limited to just 99 pairs worldwide. If you’re looking for something that will make your fellow kaki bola green with envy at your local padang, this would probably do the job.

Built around the X Crazyfast, the limited-edition football boot features Adidas’ Speedframe sole plate, Aerocage lining and Aeropacity Speedskin technologies. The carmaker’s input is represented by the Bugatti Blue finish for the semi-transparent mono-mesh material on the mid-foot cage, while a carbon-fibre inlay in the boot’s tooling “replicates the carbon-fibre used on the car.”

The boot has has two phrases adorning its sides, with ‘Impossible is Nothing’ from Adidas and ‘Create the Incomparable’ from Bugatti. You’ll also find the insignia of Ettore Bugatti across the rear three-quarter of the boot. Each pair will come delivered in a unique box featuring an exterior design inspired by weaves of carbon-fibre.

Want one? Well, the 99 pairs of the Adidas X Crazyfast Bugatti will be available for purchase via an auction that runs from November 8-11. The minimum bid starts from 0.2 ETH (that’s the Ethereum cryptocurrency), and both companies say users will also have a direct on-ramp from traditional currency in the auction using MoonPay. At the time of writing, 0.2 ETH is around RM1,765.

If you’re lucky enough to win a pair with your bid, an exclusive digital shoebox will be issued, which can be redeemed from November 13 onwards via Adidas Collect for the physical pair. Not sure how good the football boots will look? Well, Rafael Leao and Karim Benzema will unveil them on the pitch for the first time sometime this month.
