KTM has announced the start of advance sales of ETS and Intercity tickets for April 2024. Next year’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls on April 10 or thereabouts, and if you’re planning to balik kampung by train – surely the easiest way – it’s wise to book early.
If you’re wondering why are tickets being open for sale so early, this is KTM’s new advance sales ticket system for the ETS and Intercity. The new concept will see advance sales open six months ahead. A new month of future tickets will go on sale every 30th of the month. The new system started in July.
So, tickets until the end of February 2024 went on sale earlier this week. On November 30, May 2024 tickets will go on sale, and so on. As for the Shuttle Tebrau from JB Sentral to Woodlands, it’s the same, but instead of noon for the ETS, ticket sales open at 10am every 30th.
Meanwhile, KTM is also rolling out extra ETS train services for the upcoming school holiday period. There will be one extra service from KL northbound and one more from Padang Besar to KL, from December 15 to January 1, 2024.
Train number EP9286 will depart KL Sentral at 5.05 pm and reach Padang Besar at 10.34 pm, while EP9283 will start the journey from Padang Besar at 11am, reaching KL Sentral at 4.36 pm. Tickets went on sale this morning.
